This Week’s Message
A number of teachers just finished presenting at the Dunia conference over the weekend. Congratulations and thank you to all who took part. Last week on Monday we discussed how to help students complete and submit work by establishing learning continuums and multiple stages of assessment. See the “important to know” section below for more information about submission of work.
Also last week on Weds we looked at Part A of the personal project. This practice helped us share understandings of application of assessment criteria, a skill that is useful at all levels. For more information on Personal Project, click the Personal Project Corner below.
We also just submitted our Building Quality Curriculum Unit samples for MYP. See the BQC Corner below for more.
This week we have open house. See communication from school leadership. We also have our PD Retreat at Bogor on Friday. The focus will be on Bringing the School Vision and Mission to Life.
Personal Project Corner
We just completed the first standardization meeting with our teams. In Jan and Feb we will have three meetings in a row to assess our students work. This includes all teachers and is a good PD activity to help us understand each others application of assessment criteria, help us get to know the students who will be selecting DP course in just 5 months, and help us learn the skills that students bring with them from MYP to DP. For more on Personal Project, see the PP Tab at the top of the page.
Some important things you can find on the tab above:
Students made their first submission on Feb 10 last year, and have made 6 submissions since.
Many teachers have provided support on the Thursday ASA. The full lists of submission dates past and present and topics for ASA can be found on the PP page above.
