This Week’s Message

This week will be slightly quieter than usual with all of the Y 7 away on the Trip. This trip is an IDU with Humanities and PHE, where the students will practice and apply Reflection tools they have learned in the two classes. They will also be involved in Curriculum linked Service and Action.

On the blog this week is information about the Semester Exams, Outline of Term and Semester Reports, as well as important dates.  See the “Semester Information” tab above. This year Y7 and Y8 will not have exams during exam week. They will attend regular classes. Teachers can prepare in-class tests and assessments, or continue with teaching or projects. As a reminder, at the end of the semester, all students in the same Year level and subject MUST have the same sets of assessments recorded.

For more information, the MYP-DP guide is available in the Resources section above. This includes things such as how to grade work and procedures for accepting late work. Please be familiar with the information available in this guide. The new teachers just had an induction section on this last week.

New this week: posted on the school's web page you will find the MYP Subject Group Overviews. All of our MYP units are now posted to the public, and parents can see what the students are working on in class. Please have a look.

Go to the Global Jaya Web Page and click on the subject group overview folder on the bottom of the MYP page. The GJS "MYP Parent-Student Guide" will be posted in this section later this week.

Did you know: On the school web page you can find the GJS Secondary School Student -Parent handbook and school wide policies for Assessment, Integrity, POSSE, Language, and Uniform? Please have a look.
